To have worked consistently, been in film, television and West End theatre, and worked internationally is a credit to any actor. Jean now tours her one-woman show Royal Mistresses, which also plays the cruise ships. She also presents the Cruise TV travel show Doris Visits on Opera TV and online. There are over 130 episodes.

Jean has also co-produced her own theatre show; Mutton, a sketch show that toured all the country’s main theatres, and began life at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Royal Mistresses was written by award-winning writer Joan Greening. Jean performs this as a one woman show that plays theatres, after dinner and to Women’s Guilds.

Jean also produced and starred in her own TV web series Shades of Bad, which ran for 61 episodes and won her Best Actress in New York twice and the series was consistently at the top of the world on-line drama chart (put together by We Love Soaps in the USA). 

Her career is littered with major shows playing alongside well- known names, like Oscar- winning Mark Rylance in the Edinburgh Festival Winner Grass Arena, wife to Billy Murray in Freight released by ICON, which won Best Actor and Best Director in the USA and the Silver Bear in Mexico.

She also played alongside Emma Fielding and Simon Callow in The Scarlet Tunic and trod the red carpet at festivals around the world when it was up for best romantic film against The English Patient and Anna Karenina.

She is mother to comedy star Laura Aikman (Job Lot, Waterloo Road, Casualty, Lemon La Vida Loco) and son Luke Aikman, entrepreneur and successful young actor (Nick Hornby in Fever Pitch)
